This Is Not A Contest

This is the time of year the library usually holds our Writing/Photography Contest but we are revamping it this year and would like to invite you to join us in our non-competitive

“THIS IS NOT A CONTEST -  Illustrated Fiction and Poetry Exhibition”.

We are inviting all ages to write and illustrate a short work of Fiction or Poetry. Non-fiction is acceptable also – we just want the children to enjoy writing for pleasure –so really anything they are inspired to do is acceptable. All entries will be on display at the library beginning with the Grand Opening on May 24^th at 3:30 pm, complete with refreshments and festivities. (We may have a special guest or two.) Any age and teams are encouraged to enter. We ask that all entries be submitted by May 13^th.

If the children need some ideas for illustrating their story/poem the library is providing Illustration Workshops with artist Corinne Scheman:

Collage/ Water Color Tuesday March 13^th  at 3:40 pm

Cartooning/Fantasy Art Tuesday March 20^th at 3:40 pm      

Photography/Drawing Tuesday March 27^th at 3:40 pm
