This week at WPL Kids

Here is a list of everything happening in the children's area at the Wilkinson Public Library.

Summer Reading Wednesday Activities: Every Wednesday @ Noon Every Wednesday kids are invited to participated in a summer reading activity at the library. We have already made pop-up cards, paper flowers and duct tape creations. This Wednesday, Katherine will help kids make a Fourth of July craft at Noon.

Baby Signing with Katie Frazee: Wednesday @ 4PM On Tuesday, June 26 join Katie Frazee for a free workshop on baby sign language at 4:00 in the children's area. Baby sign language is a way to teach infants how to communicate using hand gestures. Hand gestures are easier for a baby than controlling their vocal chords. Using sign language enables your baby to start communicating about six months earlier than if you were just relying on speech. Being able to sign accelerates your baby’s progress to words as well. Studies show that signing babies develop larger speaking vocabularies than their non-signing counterparts.

Regular (But Awesome) Storytime - Monday, Wednesday and Friday at 11:00 and Saturdays at 11:30 Don't miss our storytime line up with Regular (But Awesome) Storytimes Monday, Wednesday and Friday at 11 and Saturdays at 11:30. This is a great opportunity for children ages 3 to 5 to sing, listen and imagine the hottest stories in children's literature.

Bilingual Storytime - Thursdays at 11:30 AM Children ages 3 to 5 are encouraged to come to the Children's area at Wilkinson Public Library every Thursday at 11:30 for bilingual storytime. Librarian Alison Farnham will read from a children's book in Spanish and English, while the Children's staff sing the classic storytime songs. This is a great opportunity to teach your children another language.
